The FIM Training Camps are - as defined in the FIM Sporting Code - are sporting training activities under FIM jurisdiction, open to National Federations and foreign riders.
The FIM is encouraging the Training Camps for several key reasons.
A FIM Training Camp can not be named as such without being submitted for approval to the FIM by the relevant National Federation and approved. Moreover, the FIM Commission correspondent to the discipline of the Camp is also involved in the organization, supporting the local organizers. No form of competition shall take place during a FIM Training Camp.
The aims of the FIM
The major aim of the FIM Training Camps is the talent development: they are designed to identify and nurture young riders with potential stimulating their participation in national, continental and world championships. By providing structured training, these camps help develop the next generation of elite riders.
The Training Camps focus on enhancing riders' skills, techniques, and knowledge of safety protocols. This not only helps improve performance on the track but also reduces the risk of accidents and injuries, promoting a safer sport overall.
A second aim of the FIM is promoting global growth: by hosting Training Camps in various regions, FIM helps to grow motorcycle racing in different parts of the world. This encourages wider participation and engagement, helping to globalize the sport and increase its popularity. But it also encourages countries to develop and implement training programme.
This is also why the FIM encourage Clubs and Trainers to attend the Training Camps in order to acquire new skills and learn new training methods to be applied in future training activities.
These camps also serve as networking opportunities, where young riders, coaches, and officials can connect, share experiences, and build relationships. This strengthens the global motorcycling community.
