SpeedwayGP: Czech racer Milik makes speedway GP return as Prague wild card

In-form Czech charger Vaclav Milik aims to build on a flying start to 2023 as makes his FIM Speedway Grand Prix return as Prague FIM Speedway GP of Czech Republic wild card on Saturday, June 3.

Milik, who became the only Czech rider to reach the Prague FIM Czech Speedway GP podium in 2017, finishing third, makes what will be his 13th Speedway GP appearance and his first since 2020 as he lines up in the famous No.16 race jacket at Marketa Stadium.

The Caslav-born ace hopes to continue what has been an impressive start to 2023 with his Polish club Krosno. After helping them to promotion to the PGE Ekstraliga last season, he was paid for at least nine points in all three of their opening matches this year.

The 29-year-old also led the Czech Republic to fifth place in the 2022 FIM Speedway of Nations in Vojens, Denmark, securing their qualification for this summer’s Monster Energy FIM Speedway World Cup in Wroclaw from July 25-29.

Milik is joined in Prague by track reserves Jan Kvech and Eduard Krcmar, who line up in the No.17 and No.18 race jackets respectively.

Fans are set for two nights of racing in Prague, which also hosts the Prague FIM SGP2 of Czech Republic on Friday, June 2 – the opening round of this year’s FIM Speedway Under-21 World Championship.

Tickets for both the Prague FIM Czech Speedway GP and the Prague FIM SGP2 of Czech Republic are on sale now.
