Meeting between the BAJA and OiLibya Rally of Morocco

They came and they are almost all here! The Stars of the rally raid were followed by masses of photographers as they arrived in Zagora. The drivers, the teams and the rally vehicles came onto the scene today in a friendly atmosphere.

The OiLibya Rally of Morocco’s HQ is based at the Hotel Reda, the nerve center of the competition. This was the scene of a symphony orchestrated by NPO Events; there were no hiccups as competitors of the OiLibya Rally of Morocco completed the caravan initially started by the participants at the BAJA. They set off this morning on the first special of the Morocco BAJA 2013, composed of 24kms liaison and 270kms of special.Followed by a return liaison of 26k.

Administrative and technical checks: what’s it all about ?

Administrative and technical checks are commonly referred to as Scrutinizing 'in the jargon of the competition. At the administrative level, it is mandatory to control the competitor’s official documents: licenses, identity papers, insurance, vehicle papers, any mishap could lead to a competitor watching the race instead of being on the starting line.
Technical commissioners are responsible for these audits before the vehicles face the desert. With their knowledge, experience and measurement tools, they make sure these machines are in accordance with the FIM and FIA regulations.

This took place, today from 7 am till 7 pm , Sunday, October 13 in Zagora, in a one big party atmosphere .
The calm before the battle

Here in Zagora, under the blazing sun you could casually cross paths with the frontrunners of the world championship FIM Cross-Country Rallies. Manly handshakes, glances, stolen photographs, drivers in all categories Cars, Motorcycle, Truck, ATV, all wore a smile before a fight in six stages of the OiLibya Rally of Morocco.

They come here for so many reasons: to win the world championship, to train before the Dakar, test their vehicles, their equipment or crew, or just have fun with friends , family or with their team ... we can see the cheerful faces of hundreds participants in the OiLibya Rally of Morocco: enthusiasm and a desire to give the best of themselves

First stage of The Baja: the Italians lead the dance

The competitors of the BAJA of Morocco in 2013 took off at 7:20am this morning in the first stage after the sprint on Saturday had seen a fierce battle between ZANOTTI (No. 131) and RUOSO (No. 101) who emerged as victorious . All riders discovered the typical fast tracks of Morocco for the first special, where we saw the two Italians take the lead of the stage and the overall ranking. Alessandro RUOSO strengthened his lead over Alessandro Zanotti by 15 ' 43 “

After 3h41min the Frenchman Adrien MARE participating in his first race on his Yamaha 450 completed the podium in this first stage. Behind him, the Polish Kamil WISNIEWSKI first quad overall conceded 2min37. The First Moroccan, Marco Fillipini on his Husqvarna No. 110 also ranks third position of the 450cc category.
