On Wednesday 23 February, motorcycle rider Max Biaggi was awarded several certificates and diplomas in recognition of the land speed world records achieved on the Voxan Wattman electric motorcycle. And the story will continue...
On 22 November 2021 on the track of the Kennedy Space Center in Florida (United States), Italian rider Max Biaggi set the most prestigious record on the Voxan Wattman, an electric motorcycle designed by Venturi.
On a huge straight line, over a one kilometre run and another kilometre run back with a flying start, he reached the amazing average speed of 455,737 km/h and top speed of 470.257 km/h in the under 300 kg partially streamlined electric motorcycle category. That day, the grey-coloured Voxan, designed by Sacha Lakic, made all the timekeeping cells go crazy.
So much for the most prestigious of all records, as in only 12 months, the Voxan team has set 22 records in total.
Gildo Pastor, proud and emotional
22 world speed records in the electric categories, both under 300 kg and over 300 kg, were achieved by the Monegasque company thanks to Max Biaggi, but also to Louis-Marie Blondel, Research & Development Chief Designer at Venturi, who also designed the architecture of the Voxan.
In the Venturi group's offices in Monaco, Gildo Pastor was a proud man. He was proud and moved to share such achievements with all the members of his team and the partners of this electric adventure which constantly pushes back the boundaries of speed.
Needless to say, the Monegasque firm will not stop there. At Venturi’s, we like to savour victory, but we never rest on our laurels.
Next objective for the Voxan: 500 km/h
"We reached a final top speed of 470 km/h. We knew that before we went there. We nailed it thanks to outstanding riders. Now we need the Voxan to be even faster, says Gildo Pastor. So now we're getting ready to set a new record for December. Our goal is to reach 500 km/h, that is our dream here. For now, it's clearly not possible, all the elements have to be fine-tuned. So we are working on it very hard with utmost dedication. That's how records work, it’s crazy!"
Gildo Pastor has spurred his whole team at Venturi on to top performance. This pursuit spread to all areas of the Monegasque firm and can never be satisfied.
