Denmark’s European champion Mikkel Michelsen has ended his hunt for an FIM Speedway Grand Prix win with an unforgettable Trans MF FIM Speedway GP of Germany – Landshut victory on Saturday.
Michelsen made an electrifying start in the final to see off reigning Speedway GP world champion Bartosz Zmarzlik in second spot, Australian racer Jack Holder in third and Poland’s Dominik Kubera in fourth place.
After a 20-round run without a final appearance stretching back to the Orlen FIM Speedway GP of Poland – Warsaw in May 2022, Michelsen leaves Landshut elated.
Meanwhile, Polish icon Zmarzlik captured the Speedway GP World Championship lead for the first time in 2024, moving on to 50 championship points, with Holder second on 48 and pre-event leader Jason Doyle of Australia on 47 in third place.
