FIM MiniGP World Series applications open for 2024

Series can now apply to join the first global programme in motorsport aimed at creating grassroots equality.

The FIM MiniGP World Series is one of the newest paths on the Road to MotoGP™, having made its debut in 2021. Designed to unify and standardise MiniGP competitions from around the world under the same umbrella, it’s the first global programme in motorsport aimed at creating grassroots equality.

Federations and CONUs (continental unions) can now apply to be part of the 2024 series, with applications open until the 28th of February 2024. First time applications for 160cc Series are open, and competitions that have already run a 160cc Series can now also apply to stage a 190cc Series – the class that made its debut in 2023.

There remain three types of Cup for 2024:
- FIM MiniGP National Cup: organised by or through one FMN (national federation)
- FIM MiniGP Regional Cup: organised by or through various FMNs
- FIM MiniGP Continental Cup: organised by or through a CONU

As in 2023, each Series must have a minimum of five events comprising 10 races and the top riders in each Series will then be invited to the World Final.

Applications are to be made to the FIM, via an application form that the FIM will provide to each national/continental federation.

Once the application period is over, the FIM will select the Cups that will form the fourth FIM MiniGP World Series and inform the competitions whose applications to add a 190cc Series have been accepted.

Series that began in 2021, 2022 or 2023 do not need to reapply, but all Series must adhere to the 2024 conditions and send their calendar to the FIM and Dorna Sports a minimum of three months before their first event.

The attached guide has been updated for 2024 and provides a comprehensive look at the regulations, conditions, equipment, technical requirements and next steps for each FMN/CONU, promoter or interested party looking to apply to become part of the FIM MiniGP World Series.
