Polish star Bartosz Zmarzlik stormed to a record-shattering 24th FIM Speedway Grand Prix win after topping the podium at the 3P Logistics FIM Speedway GP of Sweden – Målilla on Saturday evening.
Zmarzlik triumphed in the final to surpass the record of 23 victories he had previously shared with Australia’s Jason Crump. Last year’s Speedway GP world champion has extended his lead in the 2024 championship standings by 17 points to 86 after five rounds.
Australia’s Max Fricke claimed the runner-up position, competing in his first Speedway GP final since his win in Warsaw in May 2022. This is only the first substitute rider's second round of this year’s Speedway GP series since replacing the injured Jason Doyle in Prague on June 1.
British rider Robert Lambert took third place, earning a much-needed 16 points to lift himself up to second in the championship standings.
After a fourth-place finish, Australia’s Jack Holder now sits just one point behind Lambert in the championship in third place.
