Barreda wins his fifth Baja Aragon

Joan Barreda (Honda), winner of the prologue on Saturday morning, took the start of the 180 km SS1 between Bañón and Cuevas Labradas, ahead of Lorenzo Santolino (Sherco) and Tosha Schareina (Husqvarna). No surprise then, given the usual dusty terrain of the Baja Aragon, Barreda had the advantage of opening the track, he won the SS1.

On Saturday, the drivers ran two specials of 208 km and 113 km on slippery, relatively rough and dusty terrain despite the wind. Once again, Joan Barreda (Honda) won. For the fifth time, the Spaniard dominated the race from start to finish, winning every single Special Stage. However, it was not so easy to keep his rivals at a distance: "This was one of the hardest Baja Aragon races I have ever done," Joan Barreda commented at the finish, "the terrain is more and more complicated and broken, but it was a great race! During the last special stage, my knee twisted and I felt a crack. I had to stay calm and focused to finish the race."
Tosha Schareina (Husqvarna) finished second at 4'43 beating Lorenzo Santolino by 8 short seconds.
Joan Pedrero (Rieju) took fourth place from Rui Gonçalves (Sherco) while Mathieu Doveze (KTM) finished sixth ahead of Jeremy Miroir (KTM).

Neels Theric (KTM) is ranked first Junior ahead of Jean-Loup Lepan (KTM) and Konrad Dabrowski (KTM).

In the women's category, Sara García (Yamaha) wins again this third round of the FIM Baja World Cup with 14'28 ahead of Mirjam Pol (Husqvarna).
Gendron (KTM) is the first of the Veterans in front of Bianchi Prata (Honda) and Ferreira (Honda).

In quad, Alexandre Giroud (KTM), Jérôme Connart (Yamaha) and Toni Vingut (Yamaha) fought during the two days to finish in this order.
Unfortunately the #100, Mario Cajon (KTM) broke his engine and Faisal Alsuwayh also abandoned in the last Selective Sector as Jorge Lafarja (Yamaha).
