Ana Carrasco returns to action at Motorland

After more than eight months since Ana raced her last WorldSSP300 race, the Murcian rider is ready to face the new season with her Kawasaki Ninja 400.

This pre-season has not been easy for Ana after an injury she sustained during a training session in September 2020 kept her away from the competition and did not allow her to finish the 2020 season, Ana fractured her T3, T4 and T6 vertebrae.

This long pre-season has benefited the rider as she has undergone several surgeries and has had time to fully recover from her injury, and train with her bike on various circuits. An intensive recovery and physical preparation plan have allowed her to arrive in the best possible condition to face the new season.

The Provec Racing team has been strengthened with Carla Grau as Team Manager and former WorldSBK driver Joan Lascorz has joined the team as 'Rider performance advisor' to stand by and advise Ana on sporting issues.

Kawasaki's rider comes to the first round of the season highly motivated, and just like last year, on Fridays there will be two free practices, on Saturday the Superpole session and race 1 and Sunday all the WorldSSP300 riders will face off again for the second race of the weekend.

This year's calendar consists of 8 rounds and 16 races, the next appointment being next weekend at the Estoril circuit in Portugal.

Ana Carrasco (Provec WorldSSP300 rider): "I am very excited to be back in the paddock after so many months of not being able to compete. This morning I had the medical check with the doctors and I'm ready to start the championship. I feel like measuring myself against the other riders, to see where I really am. I will work as hard as I can with the team to try to be as fast as possible and get a good result here."

Carla Grau (Provec WorldSSP300 Team Manager): "We are very happy to start the championship again. It's been 9 months of injury, and both Ana and the team have been working very hard to get back here this weekend. Now we can really see in what shape and rehabilitation stage we are in. It's a good time for Ana to get back on the bike, to feel competitive and start getting in to the competition rhythm again. I thank all the sponsors who continue to support us in the project and the new ones that have incorporated, in these times we’re living, it means a lot."
